# Connect Microsoft Calendar

> Link Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 so scheduled meetings arrive with titles, attendees, and join links.

Connect Microsoft Calendar to read meetings from an Outlook.com or Microsoft
365 account. It works on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Meeting recording also works
without a calendar; connecting one adds scheduled prompts, titles, attendees,
and join links.

OpenWhispr requests delegated read access to your calendars. It does not create,
edit, or delete events.

## Connect it

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Integrations">
    Click **Integrations** in the sidebar, then the **Calendar** section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect">
    Choose **Connect Microsoft Calendar**. Sign in with the Outlook.com or
    Microsoft 365 account whose calendar you want to read, then approve access
    in your browser.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose which calendars count">
    **Sync primary calendar only** ignores events from calendars other people
    have shared with you. Leave it on if shared calendars would otherwise fill
    your meeting list with events you are not attending.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You can connect more than one account. **Add another calendar** repeats the
sign-in flow, and the Microsoft Calendar card shows one row per connected email
address.

## What it changes

| Without a calendar | With one connected |
| - | - |
| Prompt appears when OpenWhispr hears sustained speech | Prompt also appears just before a scheduled meeting |
| Notes start as **New note** | Notes take the event's title |
| Speaker count starts at a default | Attendees pre-fill the expected speaker count |
| You join the call yourself | **Join & transcribe** opens the link and starts the note together |

## System audio still needs its own permission

Calendar access does not let OpenWhispr hear other people on a call. That uses a
separate operating-system permission. See [capturing both sides of the
call](/help/meetings/capture-both-sides).

## Disconnecting

In Integrations, hover over the row with the connected account's email address
and choose the unlink icon. Confirm **Disconnect**. OpenWhispr removes the local
tokens for that account; existing meeting notes are unchanged, and microphone
detection plus the Meeting Mode Hotkey keep working.
